Blogs

Blogs that I like to follow:

The Rapid eLearning Blog

RSS Feed: http://www.articulate.com/rapid-elearning/feed/

I like this blog because there are a lot of tutorials with PowerPoint slides, templates, techniques and guides to free stock images.  Tom Kuhlmann runs this blog and is an active member of the Articulate community. Articulate is an e-learning authoring software manufacturer for quizzes and PowerPoint plugins.  The discussions that Tom posts are universal and I am sure that you find them useful for your online courses regardless if you use Articulate or some other authoring tool.

Cathy Moore

Cathy's blog has lots of scenario based learning tutorials and information graphics (infographs) designed for adult learners.  There are guides on how to write quizzes to help the adult learner understand the best choice and conclusions.

Lynda.com Blog

RSS Feed: http://blog.lynda.com/feed/

I am a huge fan of Lynda.com video library.  There are thousands of video tutorials on her site for every type of software imaginable and Lynda has branched out to soft skill training as well. I am fortunate that my organization has budgeted the money for this training site for me to use ($350/annual).  This blog can keep you up to date on her latest offerings.

eLearning Technology

Tony Karrer is Chief Technology Officer (CTO) TechEmpower with over 20 years of training and shares his wisdom and insight on the latest eLearning trends. I like his visual approach and his use of well know stock photography and his use of templates.  I am a big fan of using templates and they help me to create rapid eLearning scenarios.

Rapid eLearning | Adobe Captivate Blog

At my work, I have the license for Adobe eLearning Suite with Captivate version CS4 and I cannot wait until I purchase the latest Captivate version 6 in the spring of 2013. The new version has HTML 5 capabilities and advanced quiz features.  I am sharing this blog for users of Adobe eLearning Suite and I don't know how useful it is for Instructional Designers who do not use the software.
